Dolbadarn Castle

Dolbadarn Castle is situated on the shore of Llyn Padarn in Llanberis. A wonderful day out for all – an easy walk around the lake but with spectacular views of Snowdonia and Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) itself.

Most likely constructed by Llywelyn ap Iorwerth (Llywelyn the Great) in the late 12th or early 13th century, it stood watch over the strategic route inland from Caernarfon to the upper Conwy Valley.
