A rugged pebble beach with a lighthouse. The beach overlooks Puffin Island on the north side of the Menai Strait. This is where David Attenborough found his first fossil and his incredible journey began.
There is something very magical about Penmon and its lighthouse guiding ships through Puffin Sound to this day. Sit on the rocks and watch the sailing boats whip round on Round Puffin Island race days, the thrill of the chase is infectious and you’ll be cheering them all on before you know it.
Lunch or an ice cream at The Pilot House Cafe – or an end of day pizza treat as the sun sets on yet another magical day.
Stop off at St Seiriol’s Church, St Seiriol’s Well and the Dovecote before heading to the beach. Well worth stopping on the way there or on the way home.
