“We all had a delightful stay in your beautiful cottage with all its thoughtful additions and kitchen equipment. We wanted for nothing! We found the secret garden and had a stroll around it! The heating was such a lovely blanket of warmth, especially coming back to after a cold wintry walk into town. The weather was excellent. We would all love to come back sometime soon, even though some of us only live as far away as Porthmadog.”

“Well what an experience!! From the moment we walked in to Tros Yr Afon we knew it was special. It is a beautifully and tastefully presented home that goes without saying. But it is much much more – it is a sanctuary, a place set apart filled with love. We could all actually feel it. The atmosphere is incredible. Tros is so peaceful and comfortable it’s like a giant hug.”
Jackie and Richard are the most amazing hosts ever! Nothing is too much trouble – from the flowers by the beds to the goodies in the kitchen, the books , games . DVDs , the fantastic beds , pillows and linen !! Everything you could possibly want or need is here. They really do go the extra mile thank you Jackie and Richard.
And I am thrilled that they are preserving the old fisherman’s cottage in its original state- it honours the folk who lived loved and worked here all those years ago. The secret garden too just magical. It has a wonderful atmosphere and deep serenity and peace can be found in its wild beauty.
The sense of history is palpable and the whole place has been sensitively cherished.
We loved sitting in the window seat with a good book when the rain poured! And doing yoga as the sun came up from over the mountains was a total joy.
To stay at Tros Yr Afon is such a huge privilege, it fed us body and soul and gave us precious family memories.
Jackie and Richard we cannot thank you enough. We found it hard to leave and we are already looking forward to returning.

“It’s so wonderful to return here and everything is just as we remembered it, if not better! Jackie’s attention to detail in the beautiful house is second to none and is so welcoming. The ever changing view across the Strait is wonderful – and we saw a salmon leap! (October, the right season to see them). “What a beautiful holiday home! We instantly felt at home from the minute we got here. Comes with everything you need – Jackie has thought of everything. Waking up to this view in the morning will be missed. Jackie is always on hand if you need anything or advice/suggestions. It was fab to have a private parking space so after a long day out you don’t have to worry about finding somewhere to park. Our highlight was Penmon Point! Son & girlfriend joined our stay and they like it here so much they didn’t want to leave. Their highlight of the house was the great window seats. We hope we can visit again soon. Thank you!”

“Another fabulous week at Tros Yr Afon. This was our second stay and was every bit as good as the first. We returned to beautiful Newborough Beach (just ahead of the hurricane), walked the lovely coastline beyond Moelfre, bounced below at ZipWorld, climbed at Beacon Climbing Centre and walked up Snowdon. New this year was a ride on the Welsh Highland Railway and walk back from Rhydd Du to Beddgelert. Always lovely to come home each evening to the beautiful view across the Menai Straits. ” What a simply stunning house! So often holiday cottages are poorly furnished and equipped but not this one. Loved the huge sofas, comfy bed, artwork,cleanliness and the peacefulness we felt within these walls. The perfect location to unwind from the stresses of everyday life! We especially enjoyed “crabbing” on the pier, the Pier House Bistro, the Red Boat Ice Cream Parlour, a blustery walk to Llanddwyn Island and the fabulous ever changing views over the mountains. We were lucky have a mini Indian Summer which enhanced all our trips on Anglesey. The house is a delight, so beautifully situated and every detail for a comfortable stay thought about. The beds are amazing, which meant we slept well all week – a rare thing indeed! Wonderful walks through the woods behind the house. A visit to the hidden gardens at Cadnant a real must. Walks along the Belgium Prom in Menai Bridge with spectacular views of both bridges. ” We had a wonderful holiday in this special house – so welcoming and comfortable. Lovely furnishings and decorations – superb views and position and weather better than we expected at the beginning. Beaumaris has been a favourite for years but we’ve never been in a better holiday home – a lot of that due to Jackie who made us cakes – worried that we were warm enough, after a chilly day (we were!) and generally made us feel well looked after and trouble free.
